"According to Jushi's '14th Five-Year Plan' overall plan, Jushi's high-end products will account for more than 90%." During the 29th International Fiberglass Annual Conference of China Jushi held recently, Li Chang, Vice President and Secretary of the Board of Directors of China Jushi, accepted "Securities Daily" reporter said in an interview.
Currently, the fiberglass industry is still at the bottom of the cycle. How will the industry transform and upgrade under the "double carbon" goal? Li Chang said that in the future, Jushi will focus on high-end, intelligent and green directions and explore a green and zero-carbon development path for the fiberglass industry.
Increase the proportion of high-end products
Glass fiber is glass fiber, which has properties such as light weight, high strength, corrosion resistance, sound absorption, and heat insulation. Its products are widely used in transportation (lightweight cars and vehicles), renewable energy (wind power, photovoltaic), electronic communications (PCB Printed circuit board applications), energy conservation and environmental protection, building materials and other fields.
Li Chang said that by the end of 2022, Jushi products will account for about 30% in automobiles and other transportation fields, 20% in wind power, about 15% in electronic and electrical related fields, and about 25% in infrastructure and building materials. , others account for about 10%.
According to the forecasts of growth in downstream application fields by relevant institutions, the demand for wind power yarn is expected to exceed 4 million tons from 2023 to 2025, the output value of the domestic automotive fiberglass market is expected to exceed 14.5 billion yuan, and the output value of the PCB market in 2023 It is expected to reach US$74.7 billion. Based on predictions, Jushi’s overall plan for the “14th Five-Year Plan” is to increase the proportion of high-end products to more than 90%.
The new energy field is becoming an important scenario for the downstream application of high-end fiberglass products. According to reports, this year’s world’s longest offshore wind turbine blade unit of 123 meters and the world’s longest impeller diameter of 216 meters use ultra-high modulus glass fiber from China Jushi. At present, the world's top three wind turbine blade manufacturers all use China Jushi's glass fiber. One out of every three wind turbine blades in the world is produced with China Jushi's high-modulus and high-strength glass fiber.
Fan Chao, chief analyst of the building materials industry at Changjiang Securities, told a reporter from Securities Daily that glass fiber reinforced polyurethane composite materials have properties such as light weight and high strength, resistance to PID (potential induced decay), resistance to aging and corrosion, and resistance to high and low temperatures. They can not only Extending the service life of photovoltaic modules can also reduce costs and increase efficiency for photovoltaic module manufacturers. In addition, the carbon emissions of composite photovoltaic frames are less than 1/10 of those of aluminum alloy photovoltaic frames. It is expected that 2023 will be the first year for the application of glass fiber composite materials in the photovoltaic field.
Smart manufacturing empowers green and low-carbon transformation
Under the "double carbon" goal, how the glass fiber industry can achieve green and low-carbon transformation has become the focus of the industry.
On February 8 this year, China Jushi Huaian Lianshui glass fiber zero-carbon intelligent manufacturing base laid the foundation and the first phase of the project officially started. At present, the project has entered the comprehensive installation stage, and supporting wind power projects are advancing simultaneously. According to reports, the Lianshui zero-carbon intelligent manufacturing base is the world's first glass fiber zero-carbon intelligent manufacturing base. It integrates the application of advanced and mature equipment and technologies in the current industry, and supports the construction of wind power generation projects and rooftop photovoltaic power generation projects to fully develop renewable energy sources. Energy, production and life all use green electricity.
In addition, China Jushi continues to be committed to the design and development of process technology and equipment for glass fiber green manufacturing, and promotes the greening of production and manufacturing; guided by the greening of the entire life cycle of glass fiber products, from product performance design, raw material development, production A series of green solutions have been designed for the entire process including process control and product application.
Digital technology also empowers Jushi’s green and low-carbon development. Yu Yadong, director of China Jushi Information Technology Center, introduced to reporters that Jushi has built an industrial Internet platform for the fiberglass industry, connected more than 10,000 industrial equipment, established an industrial big data pool, and implemented monitoring and control of energy consumption and pollutant emissions in the production process. Real-time monitoring, analysis and abnormal handling of data are carried out, effectively achieving efficient, low-consumption and environmentally friendly production.
Data shows that so far this year, China Jushi has promoted a total of 136 green innovations, saving energy equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 50,000 households; it is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions equivalent to planting 1.41 million trees; and achieve optimal comprehensive energy consumption per unit product. The industry standard value is 36%, and the carbon emissions per unit product are 21% higher than the industry level, far ahead of the industry average; the water resource recycling rate reaches 97.7%; the construction of distributed photovoltaic projects is promoted and the proportion of green energy is increased, which has been completed The installed capacity is 104 MW and the annual power generation can reach 100 million kWh.
Today, China Jushi has established a development pattern in which domestic bases complement each other, overseas bases interact, and "three places and five continents" support each other.
Li Chang told reporters that China Jushi started a new journey of internationalization in 2012 and established China's first independently constructed large-scale fiberglass production base overseas in Egypt; in 2016, Jushi's U.S. project was launched, and the company realized the construction of factories in developed countries.
In the past ten years, the total designed production capacity of Jushi Egypt Company has reached 320,000 tons, with a total investment of 1 billion US dollars, and total assets increased 4 times. It has created a cumulative foreign exchange income of more than 1.67 billion US dollars for the local area, and directly created more than 2,000 local jobs. Indirectly creating more than 3,000 jobs. Currently, the localization rate of Jushi Egypt’s employees exceeds 98%, and the localization rate of Jushi America’s employees exceeds 94%.
Li Chang said that China Jushi will take fiberglass as the core, make its main business bigger, stronger and better, make the supply chain comprehensive, stable and strong, make the industrial chain solid, deep and long, and explore the creation of fiberglass The industrial ecosystem provides a monolithic solution for the development of global composite materials.
